About Karen Chisholm

Karen Chisholm is an Austin, Texas songwriter/performer who combines soulful, sweet vocals, with memorable lyrics and haunting melodies to create an outside-the-box perfected blend of alternative, folk, and pop. Her genuine smile lights up the stage and captivates her audience from the first note. Surrounded by great artists, she has recorded with the talent of AlphaRev (Hollywood Records), Ramy Antoun (BlackEyed Peas, Goldspot), Tanya Winch, Elizabeth Wills, J.J. Plasencio (SixPence), Sergio Andrade (Lifehouse), Jacob Hildebrand (Deadman), Frank Favacho (Second Day Red), Jon Napier, and Colin McDonald. Karen writes in a cinemagraphic style and hopes to one day write for film. She is releasing two albums and two music videos in 2010. Karen says, "I've written songs all my life. My first songs were sung to a massive solitary tree in a field. Even though I am very social and on stage a lot, writing is a very private pursuit. I spend a lot of late nights alone . . . processing life, and pouring my heart into writing, researching, and practicing over and over and over! I tried to stop once, but that didn't work out so well."
