33-acre Champion Park sits along the Brushy Creek Regional Trail near the Avery Ranch subdivision. It is named after the Champion family that used to live on the land and whose family cemetery and historical marker are within the park. Major attractions are the Dinosaur Dig, Dinosaur Play area, Water Play Area (Splashpark), and Pavilion.
Dinosaur Dig
Champion Park has a unique playground for kids with a dinosaur theme. Near the entrance are climbing areas with a dinosaur bones theme, and a dinosaur egg. There is also a Dinosaur Dig area. Kids can dig for concrete casts of dinosaur bones hidden beneath the sand.
Champion Park Water Play Area
The kids can also take advantage of the splash park at Champions. The splashpark is open 10am to 7pm May to September.
The parking entrance to Champion Park is off of Brushy Creek Road a few miles east of Brushy Creek Park. You will also pass it when running or walking along the Brushy Creek Regional Trail.
