Parks and Outdoors in Cedar Park and Leander
The parks in Cedar Park and Leander are managed by either the City of Cedar Park, the City of Leander, or Williamson County - which can make it difficult to find information about the parks, trails, and play areas. Here is a list (incomplete) of parks to be found in the area in no particular order.
Brushy Creek Lake Park, Cedar Park, 3300 Brushy Creek Road. One of the best and largest parks in the area - it is 90-acres with a lake. Near Parmer and Brushy Creek Road.
Twin Lakes Park A 50-acre tract of land that is a portion of 305 acres of State-owned property. Under the control of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Twin Lakes is leased to Williamson County. The YMCA of Greater Williamson County currently has an agreement with the County to undertake those tasks. The park has two small lakes connected by a narrow channel that passes under a raised roadway, thus the name Twin Lakes. The Twin Lakes Park currently provides Williamson County residents with a pavilion and a fishing dock and several acres of open area to picnic and hike. How to find it: On the East side of Bell Blvd. south of Cypress Creek - behind the Williamson County YMCA.
Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, Williamson County, Located at the intersection of RM 1431 and CR 175, the park includes eleven soccer fields, two softball fields, a football field circled by a 400-meter track, eight tennis courts, six basketball courts and a playscape. There is also a crushed granite hike and bike trail along the perimeter of the developed parkland. One of the most unique things about this park is the Cedar Rock Railroad Kids www.cedarrockrailroad.com. This miniature train operated by Ken and Holly Knowles takes adults and kids alike on a tour of the park to view the landscapes and habitat the park has to offer (small fee).
Elizabeth Milburn Park, Cedar Park, 1901 Sunchase Blvd, You will find this park on the North side of Cypress Creek a mile or so west of Lakeline/Cypress creek. Elizabeth Milburn Community Park consists of 35.84 acres and offers a playground, picnic tables, a large picnic shelter, small picnic shelters, barbecue pits, one-mile walking / jogging trail, sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, tennis courts, washer pits, restrooms, soccer fields, open field space, baseball backstops, community garden, 4/10 mile veloway, a recreational BMX track, a swimming pool and a new rock climbing wall.
Robin Bledsoe Park, Leander, A 16 acre park that offers active recreational opportunities for the entire family. Facilities include two lighted baseball/soccer fields, playscape, swimming pool, water playscape, pavilion with picnic tables, BBQ grill, concessions, restrooms, basketball court, and an amphitheater. The Park is off Bagdad Road - a few miles north of Leander High School.
Champion Park, Williamson County. 3830 Brushy Creek Road, Cedar Park. A few miles east of Brushy Creek Park on the Brushy Creek Regional Trail you will find Champion Park with its climbing boulders, playscape, and dinosaur bones pit.
Devine Lake Park is a 34 acre park featuring a large community fishing lake in North Leander.
Nelson Ranch Park, Cedar Park, 905 Nelson Ranch Road. Nelson Ranch Park constists of 3.76 acres. This park has a playground, picnic tables, park benches, a large picnic shelter, barbecue pits, a lighted basketball court, lighted tennis courts, restrooms and open field space.
Creekside Park, Cedar Park, 1100 Buttercup Creek Blvd. Creekside Park consists of 5.32 acres. This park has a playground, picnic tables, lighted tennis courts, lighted sand volleyball courts, a lighted basketball court, park benches, open field space, soccer goals, barbecue pits and a gazebo.
Garner Park, Cedar Park, 2400 Peachtree Drive Garner Park consists of 6.81 acres. This park has a playground, picnic tables, park benches, a basketball court, open field space, a baseball backstop and barbecue pits.
Park Place Park, Cedar Park, 101 Vale Drive. Park Place Park consists of 5.98 acres. This park has a playground, picnic tables, park benches and a basketball court.
Rosemary Denny Park, Cedar Park, 2400 East Riviera. 7.68 acres of a playground, picnic tables, park benches, small picnic shelters, a lighted basketball court, barbecue pits and the Riviera Springs clubhouse.
Cypress Bend Park, Cedar Park, 1604 Iris Lane Cypress Bend Park consists of 4.27 acres. This park has a playground, picnic tables, park benches, a walking / jogging trail, a sand voleyball court and barbecue pits.
Buttercup Creek Park, Cedar Park, 411 Twin Oaks Trail. Buttercup Creek Park consists of 3.55 acres. This park has a playground, picnic tables, park benches, barbecue pits, lighted tennis courts, a swimming pool and restrooms.
