Brushy Creek Lake Park

Brushy Creek Lake Park is one of the largest and best parks in the area.  The park sits on 90 beautiful acres - with a 38 acre  community fishing lake.   Facilities include a playground, a water playscape, a hike and bike trail, a nature trail, an exercise station, three pavilions, picnic tables and barbecue grills, a sand volleyball court, a canoe / kayak launch, a fishing pier, a wildlife observation area, a labyrinth, restroom, and parking area.  Pavilions can be rented for parties and special events.

Water Playscape

One of the unique attractions of this park is the Water Playscape.  This is essentially a large concrete surface with water jets shooting water into the air and pipes spraying water like an outdoor shower.

On hot summer days in Cedar Park - kids can run around for hours in the water and sun. There are several benches and grassy areas with shade nearby - so parents can take a break and watch the kids having fun.

The main dangers might be slipping or kids running into each other - so a good pair of water shoes and a warning to the kids might be in order.  Other than that - its an especially great place to take younger kids to cool off and have fun.

The water playscape operates daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is open from May through Sept. 26.

The Lake

Another attraction at Brushy Creek Lake Park is - of course - the lake.  This is a 38-acre Community fishing lake.  That mean Texas Parks and Wildlife periodically stocks the lake for fishing.  Other activities allowed on the lake include non-motorized boating and wildlife obervation. Trolling motors are not permitted.

Running & Hiking Trails

Another great feature of Brushy Creek Park is the running, hiking, biking trails.  There are several miles of developed running trails with crushed pink granite.  There is a great variety of shaded and open areas of running - next to the lake and along running brushy creek.

To get here from 1431 and Parmer - take Parmer south.  At the Shell gas station (Brushy Creek road) take a left.  The park entrance will be on your right (south side).
